Tea Stains, BEGONE!

I have been using all 12 wowgreen products since February 2009, and can attest to the efficacy of each of them. Yet I continue to be amazed at just how versatile these products are.

I live in the South, and make iced tea once or twice a week. For the time being, I’m using the iced tea maker that we got as a wedding gift 3 1/2 years ago. Anyone familiar with this Mr. Coffee product knows that there is a basket in which the tea bags are placed, and hot water pours into the basket where the tea steeps & drips slowly into the pitcher.

The only problem with this is that the tea stains the basket, in between the raised grooves that line the bottom. since I make two pitchers at a time, the stains build up quickly. I’ll admit that sometimes I just swish the basket in the soapy water & place it in the dish drainer. Then every so often I’ll soap it up really good & scrub it.

Today was a day I tried to scrub the stains out. Alas, I had waited too long! The stains were very stubborn, so I decided to let it soak in some wowgreen liquid dishwashing soap while I went upstairs to my office.

Upon returning to the kitchen, I discovered that I had forgotten to put something under the basket, and all the solution dripped down the drain. A little scrubbing yielded little result, so I sprayed wowgreen’s all-purpose cleaner into the basket & let it sit a while longer.

When I came back down to make dinner, I started “scrubbing” but didn’t really need to. the stains were almost rinsing off. I did have to get in the corners with the brush (an old toothbrush) but very little effort was required.

I’m sorry now that I didn’t have the foresight to take photos before & after. I wonder who I can call on for their stained tea basket?
